Not sure that is a “case”.

In any case how you define the routes has an impact on:

  • Delivery time
  • Delivery costs
  • Reliability

So you have to consider:

  • Are you delivering more or less packages per truck? More packages means  lower expenses on wages, and you free up capital because you need less trucks.
  • Are you driving more or less miles? This impacts costs such as fuel and maintenance (and indirectly maintenance downtime).
  • Are you more reliable because you have less deviation to your ETAs - expected time of arrival, and so more predictable (e.g. less accidents?, less time waiting to turn)? This impacts costs and you free up capital because you can operate closer to your max capacity and still meet your service levels.

I confess I find this answer a bit nerdy, even for a consultant. Of course you can come up with a structured answer, but this is not a case.

Hi there,

Is this the full case prompt? Where did you get it?

This feels a lot more like a brainstorming or riddle/puzzle/brainteaser as opposed to a case prompt.

If you can clarify the source/context we can help more…I've never seen an actual case like this.

Hi!

It's a very interesting case!

Try to layout a structure and then post it here so that we can give you more accurate feedback.

Best,

Anto
