Hello,

Over the past week, I have been trying to schedule practice sessions and have had all three scheduled meetings cancelled by the other person - without justification. If this is due to the fact that my profile shows novice, then I'm unsure how to improve my profile proficiency if I'm not able to schedule any meetings.

Is this a common occurrence with this platform? Please let me know if this is an issue with anyone else and the best way to improve your scheduling chances.

Being a novice, might lead to cancellation, however, 3 in a row is quite a lot and it might be unlucky. Maybe try the following.

  • Confirm a couple of times before the meeting
  • Send the person an agenda with the industry and type of case you will be practicing with them
  • Ask questions on what aspect of the case they really want to focus on
  • Tell them what you are focusing on and to look out for particular things while assessing you based on your previous feedback
  • Let them know that you are serious and will add value to them by providing good feedback to them as well

Hopefully some of these things will show that you are serious and reduce you cancellations

Hi,

You have had some bad luck. Cancellations occur but rarely 3 in a row.

Just keep setting up meetings and try to get counterparts with a significant number of completed cases and good rating.

Best regards,

Jorn

Hey,

sorry to hear that, I completely understand you from my experience.

While I strongly recommend you to look for coaches here at PrepLounge, as an option you can extend the means of searching the partners. If you share your telegram I can add you to a group for searching the partners.

Make sure you send a message to the person confirming that the time is suitable for them and that they'll be there. Also ask them if they have a specific need. Making a bit of personal contact makes others more counscious that they're not just “cancelling to the platform” but actually canceling last minute to another person.

It also sends the message that you are serious about this, and also that you can be a valuable partner.

Hi there,

Unfortunately at the beginner level you are going to get a fairly high level of cancellations. That said, 3 in a row is a lot.

Did you have a conversation with these individuals before booking? Make sure you actually establish contact with them so that you've both aligned on time + day.

Keep scheduling meetings and you will get hits and progress. Another option is to have a coach pair you with their candidates.
