MY INTERVIEW PREP FORMAT

I do either the general Mock Interviews (Case + Fit, non-time constraint) or you can ask for one or several sessions from the list below.

!!! You can either choose any specific session you would like to cover or go through all of them. If you want to go through all sessions and guarantee your success in the shortest period, the cheapest way is to purchase prep4success program and ask the administrators to schedule all sessions with me.

Session 1:

  • Case: Market sizing
  • Key concepts: 2 ways to structure market sizing, Key tools (Assumptions, Households, using personal experience, adjustments, age groups, etc).
  • Key concepts: 3 math skills for case interview, 3 types of pricing
  • Industry Knowledge: multisided platforms

Session 2:

  • Cases: 10 market sizing cases would be sent as the homework prior to the session. All the 10 cases will be covered during the session
  • Key concepts: Market sizing advanced tools (Income split via 80/20, replacement rate, using size of the area to calculate markets, calculating adjacent markets and use cases, sanity checks). List of the key market sizing numbers to learn
  • Industry knowledge: Walking through 10 cases on the most common market sizing topics (Automotive, Subway, Airlines, Real estate, Luxury, etc.)

Session 3:

  • Case: Declining profits in media
  • Key Concepts: Profitability structure, Revenue streams, Using “mix” in your structure, Process structures, 4 types of data requests. How to approach cases on creativity. 3 math skills for case interviews
  • Functional knowledge: Sales process
  • Industry Knowledge: Media

Session 4:

  • Market entry in Telecommunications
  • Key Concepts: Market entry structure. An integrated approach to all market-related cases (Market Entry, New product, Acquisition, etc). 4 types of data requests. How to approach questions on creativity. 3 types of recommendations. How to analyze graphs and tables. 3 most common pitfalls in graphs and tables
  • Industry knowledge: Telecom (Cellular value chain, Telecom revenue streams, MVNO)

Session 5:

  • Case: Acquisition in Consumer Goods
  • Key Concepts: Due Diligence structure. An integrated approach to all market-related cases (Market Entry, New product, Acquisition, etc). 4 types of data requests. How to approach questions on creativity. 3 types of recommendations.
  • Functional knowledge: Private equity deals
  • Industry knowledge: FMCG, Distribution

Session 6:

  • Case: Advanced profitability structures
  • Key concepts: Complex profitability problems
  • Industry knowledge: Retail (Store formats, Retail effectiveness metrics, Retail costs, Network optimization, sss vs. new stores, Private label, Key drivers (Location, pricing, Assortment, Promotions, Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Loyalty Programs, Personal Sales, etc.). Using the key retail concepts in HORECA

Session 7:

  • Case: Operational math problem (e.g. Should we increase the speed of an elevator or just buy a second one? How should we reduce the queues? Etc.)
  • Key concepts: Capacity and utilization, Cycle time, Throughput time, Little's Law, Bottlenecks, Buffer, Parallel processes.
  • Functional knowledge: Lean production
  • Industry knowledge: Metals and mining

Session 8:

  • Case: Cost cutting in mining
  • Key concepts: Cost cutting structure, Internal / external benchmarking, Idle time, Core processes and supporting processes, Mathematical structures, Other useful structures (e.g. people - process – technology)
  • Functional knowledge: Cost cutting, Capex optimization
  • Industry knowledge: Mining

Session 9:

  • Case: Valuation
  • Key concepts: WACC, Hurdle rate, NPV, Perpetuity, Rule of 72, Book value
  • Functional knowledge: Finance

Session 10:

  • Case: How to increase the excess baggage revenues
  • Industry knowledge: Airlines (profitability in airlines, regular vs. discounters, cost structure, revenue streams, routes and dynamic pricing, cost optimization, fuel efficiency and purchasing, fleet purchasing)

Session 11:

  • Case: Synergies in pharma
  • Key concepts: Revenue synergies, Cost Synergies, Where to apply the synergies structure
  • Industry knowledge: Pharma and Healthcare (OTC vs prescription, Patent regulation, Pharma value chain, 5 types of Distribution, Consumers and decision makers, Sales process)

Session 12:

  • Case: Launching a Direct bank
  • Key Concepts: Universal banking framework, LTV, Churn, User Acquisition, Retention
  • Industry knowledge: Banking (3 types of banking income, Risk, Funding, Banking opex, Wholesale banking vs. Retail banking, Key drivers of acquisition and retention).

Session 13:

  • 10 non-conventional cases (Public sector, non-profit, investment decision, macroeconomics) would be sent as the homework prior to the session. All the 10 cases will be covered during the session
  • Case types: Factors influencing the price, Macroeconomic cases, Public sector non-profits, Redesigning the processes, Non-profit investments

Session 14:

FIT interview :

  • Your story (Perfect structure, USP, How to stand out)
  • Why Consulting? (3 reasons tailored to your background)
  • Why Company? (3 reasons tailored to your office)
  • Leadership story (Perfect structure, Perfect story setting – selecting the story, 3 leadership roles you need to cover, Crafting your story)
  • Personal Impact (Perfect structure, 7 ways to influence others, Crafting your story)
  • Achievement (Perfect structure, How the consultants perceive achievements, Crafting your story)
  • Entrepreneurial drive (Perfect structure, How the consultants perceive entrepreneurship, Crafting your story)
  • Your questions to the interviewer (Questions not to ask, Questions about the background, Questions to demonstrate curiosity and intellectual capacity, Questions to leave a positive impression)
