Hi community! ------
Is it OKAY to tell a recruiter and consultants that I am planning to enroll in a top MBA program in future ?

This answer will be one element of my answer of questions like: What is your future plans, and why consulting.

Some information:

1- I am undergrad level
2- The office does not require the undergrad to do an MBA to be promoted to a consultant level or higher

3- I don't need the company's sponsorship

Absolutely, a lot of consulting firms expect that their employees will take some form of flex options sooner or later (externships, MBAs, LOA, office exchange, etc.)

Yes, absolutely, and this is a very common path for people going into consulting straight out of undergrad to take. Be sure to explain how the MBA fits into your wider career trajectory and what you are looking to gain from it (e.g. you want to do the MBA to better equip you to be a leader in X field). You also don't necessarily need to mention that you don't need the company's sponsorship.

Ex-McKinsey / 100% offer rate / LBS / Principle driven / Real case/ If you get the interview, you should get the offer!

Hi there. Super common for analyst level to spend around two years in consulting firms and pursuit an MBA. MBB would be very happy to sponsor if you reach their performance requirements.

So yes, you can include this in your career plan when you chat with the recruiter :)

I don’t see why not. It’s very common where some join consulting straight from undergrad with a MBA offer like the HBS 2+2.

Hey there,

Yes, that is completely normal and many firms offer to (partially) sponsor the MBA even.

Cheers,

Resonating with the other experts on the forum - absolutely a normal thing to mention MBA plans. Might want to supplant that with broader ambitions for long-term.
