you can definitely be referred no matter if you are an Emeralds member or not. But as far as my knowledge goes, the Emeralds membership should guarantee an interview invite. So you should really look at how you play your cards.

I would recommend you to reach out to the BCG HR of the office you're applying to clarify any questions regarding the application (this is not impacting your application chances at all).

To my knowledge, Bain doesn't have such a programme. However, it is worth writing to the recruiting team of the office you are applying to in order to see - since specific offices might be running their own programmes.

as far as i know at mck not every participant of such events automatically gets into the capstone program.

benefits of capstone program are

• you get a mentor

• guaranteed invitation for an interview

• invitations to events like cooking, wine tasting, cycling etc…

• trainings for interview preparation or other topics like communication

• plus you get to know really great people - mck consultants and other candidates

so as conclusion i would say it does increase your chances for a successful interview outcome.
