Hi everyone. I'm an incoming MSc student at a European school. I'm hoping to recruit for MBB in the middle east. Thankfully my school's network is quite extensive there. I'm just a bit curious about how to recruit. I opened BCG website and under the “students” tab there's much more details on internships than full-time. Does that mean a student will automatically be considered for an internship rather than full-time?

For reference I had 2 internships at big 4 firms, in valuation and deals, both spanning across 7 months.

Hey there,

You have the option to apply for any role you want, on company websites. However, the easier way in as a student is through campus recruiting events and referrals. Do you have any of these as online applications typically go into a huge pool of CVs that barely get screened

Also, typically as a student, you can access internships. As a fresh grad, you can explore Business Analyst or entry-level roles (titles change from one company to the other e.g., BA for Mckinsey, Associate for BCG)

Hi there,

I'm not really sure what your question is here?

You're not going to be “automatically” considered for anything. When you apply, you're applying to a specific position.

In terms of recruiting, you need to network extensively, make your resume/cover letter as good as possible, and follow your schools recruiting calendar (company events, coffee chats, application deadlines, etc.)

Hi there,

No, not necessarily.

It's always a good idea to reach directly to the recruiter and understand what sort of roles would best fit your profile. It's also an opportunity to start building a connection with them.

Best,

Cristian

You will only be considered for the role you apply. You don't have to apply for an internship if you want to go straight to a full time role. Additionally, you can only apply for internships if you are in a 2-year program with a summer break in the middle. The reason they have more information on that up is because the first recruiting cycle is generally for interns and it is then followed by full time roles later in the year.

Best,

Udayan

Hey there,

Depends on your starting date. If you want to start after your Master's ends, you would only be considered for a full-time role.

Cheers,

Florian
