Hello to all the wonderful people in the consulting community!
I have been lucky enough to receive an offer to join McKinsey but will only start in a few months.
I want to be as prepared as possible and was hoping for some advice on how to best approach this.
I know someone might say to just enjoy and travel (which I will do), but I also want to develop a good initial skillset and not be shocked by the sudden change of lifestyle. Any suggestions and resources would be appreciated.
Many thanks!

Hi,
1) Excel and Financial modeling - the best course I know is Training The Street. Take Financial Modeling, Valuation, Maybe LBO. They have the amazing templates that you have to reproduce to be able to do that fast.
The key thing - throw away your mouse and put some tape on your touchpad. Do everything with your keyboard!
2) Power Point
- First, read "Say it with charts" and "Pyramid Principle".
- As a next step Google for MBB presentations on SlideShare and try to replicate them in PPT.
- Finally, take MBA some cases (HBS or any other) and try to derive the conclusions and put them on slides using MBB styles.
And finally - take a long vacation before starting your job;)
Good Luck!

This program touches all the important aspects: the mindset, the skills, knowledge, networking and ,managing yourself as well, your bosses and clients - everything that is important in your successful career.

Hi, congratulations on the offer! Could you share a bit information on what type of cases you had at McK interview as I'm preparing for the application as well.
Also, for the PEI part, what kind of questions they asked about leadership part? I'm wondering how they deep dive at a particular section. thanks.
