I know that you are supposed to wait until you're in your third year to do the secondment or go off for your MBA. Is it possible to do BOTH in your third year? So you could do a secondment right before you go to business school, assuming you were admitted in time?
Also, is it hard to be approved for a secondment?

I don´t agree with the previous comments, since 70% of my class of Business Analysts in the Iberia Mcksey Office went for one!
The timing is precisely as you mention: the 3rd year, so the gap year between you have concluded your 2 years as BA and you go to business school for your MBA. You can also skip this 3rd year and go directly to MBA.
Both scenarios only happen if your MBA if going to be sponsored by McK.

Secondments are not so common within McKinsey and that would exclude the possibility to do an MBA.
