Hello,

Hope you're doing well.

I have passed the first two interviews with senior consultants. Both were fit + case & I think did really well on both sections in both interviews. This is for a summer internship position in the Dubai office for Delta Partners.

Does anyone have any advice relating to doing well with interviewing with partners and how does the interview differ from consultant interviews? There are two partner interviews.

Also, am I far along in the process & statistically do I have a good chance at getting this internship? Realistically how many candidates do you think they are considering? This is the only firm that has actually taken the time to interview me.

Any information at all about Delta would be appreciated. Would also like to know what to expect for compensation. Thank you very much!

Statistically, you are good. It could be a simple case to ask in an interview to calculate your chances now that you are up to round 3! :)

Partners usually focus on seeing through the surface. They want to see whether you'll do well in the real project, and how you think if you have “presence”. The two underlying questions they'll have in mind are: (1) can I send this guy to the client?, and (2) is this guy bringing some value to my usual (or the firm's) projects?

My suggestion is to try to be as crisp as you can in your communication; senior leaders like top-down communicators who are able to explain complex concepts in simple terms and in 1 or 2 sentences.

Try to sound confident but humble and as energic as you can.
Good luck!

Hi there,

1) Does anyone have any advice relating to doing well with interviewing with partners and how does the interview differ from consultant interviews?

The  final round has usually the same structure as the previous ones unless otherwise communicated (fit + case+ your questions); however in a final round, they may:

  1. Spend more time on fit and your alignment with the company.
  2. Ask questions related to the areas of improvement for which you got feedback after the first round.
  3. Not use a “standard” case. During one of my finals I had one interview which was made by two market sizing questions and a brainteaser, without any business case.

To prepare, you can work on the following:

  1. Review in detail your fit answers – they could ask more fit questions compared to the first round. In some finals I had almost exclusively behavioral questions.
  2. Work on the areas they mentioned you could improve, if any (eg. structure, creativity).
  3. Continue with your case prep. If you are tracking your performance, do drills for the areas where you are struggling the most / review cases where you made mistakes instead of doing just random cases.

2) Also, am I far along in the process & statistically do I have a good chance at getting this internship?

Very difficult to comment on your likelihood to get an offer as it depends on several factors we don’t know (e.g. your current level in solving cases). On the other hand, the fact that you reached already the final-round stage is clearly a good sign.

3) Would also like to know what to expect for compensation

Good luck!

Hi there,

Congrats on getting to round 3!

Quite simply, your odds are good. They would not waste their time interviewing if they did not see potential. We can't give you stats here, but your odds are good.

For Partners, remember they're just people! Yes, they might be a bit more “flexible” in their interview style. But, fundamentally, keep doing what you're doing and stay agile/adaptable.

Hello,

1) From my experience of interviewing with Delta Dubai, they are not in a rush to hire a certain number of candidates every year. I have seen many times that they have hired 0 candidates from my university.

2) The partner rounds are a bit trickier because they can test even on brainteasers or unstructured cases

If you need any help on specific partner round tips, DM me, I can advise since I have been through the process.

All the best!

Hello!

Congrats! The last round is similar to the others ofc. The only thing different is that with partners, you need to be ready for everything. They are very experienced and not really follow the guidelines. Furthermore, FIT becomes more important and takes longer time in the interview.

If you want to deep dive on the topic, the "Integrated FIT guide for MBB" has been recently published in PrepLounge´s shop (https://www.preplounge.com/en/shop/tests-2/integrated-fit-guide-for-mbb-34)

It provides an end-to-end preparation for all three MBB interviews, tackling each firms particularities and combining key concepts review and a hands-on methodology. Following the book, the candidate will prepare his/her stories by practicing with over 50 real questions and leveraging special frameworks and worksheets that guide step-by-step, developed by the author and her experience as a Master in Management professor and coach. Finally, as further guidance, the guide encompasses over 20 examples from real candidates.

Furthermore, you can find 3 FREE Expert Articles on PreLounge, in a sreies dedicated to preparing for the different parts of FIT:

2. https://www.preplounge.com/en/articles/motivational-fit-interview-questions

3. https://www.preplounge.com/en/behavioral-interview-questions

Feel free to PM me for disccount codes for the Integrated FIT Guide, since we still have some left from the launch

Hope it helps!
