Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the offer!
This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I'm happy to give you my perspective on it:
- Generally speaking, it is great that you take the initiative to approach HR if you have questions unanswered. A lot of coachees of mine initially do not dare to do so and end up in situation where time is short.
- Irrespectable of your specific questions regarding professional development, starting date and unpaid leave, there is no need to fill time. The call should be about you and that you will feel safe and sound with your new employer.
- In case you are trying to find out more about the position and the expecations of you, I would advise you to get in contact with current employees of the company. I would be more than happy to introduce you to people of my personal network.
In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare the upcoming HR call, please feel free to contact me directly.
I hope this helps,
Hagen
